Two October Birthdays

My Birthday already was almost three weeks ago, but nevertheless I  taken out for brunch at Libby's midmorning.

Jean Bender's birthday will be on Tuesday. Today I went for a visit. And as normal a person never knows who else is going to be with her or arrive.

Today was such a time, Jean on the left, Louis, Peggy and Anne, who is not in the picture.

Jean shared her birthday cake, which consists of bite size cupcakes.

The Cold Front

This is how cold it is tonight. Right now it is down to 64 degree with a north wind and by tomorrow morning is supposed to be 57.

Cleaning Ladies

The Ibis clean up the crumbs in the pavilion. They just made a sweeping round and left again.

One Missing

There were eight girls looking over the fence. I only got seven in the picture.

Out and About

This morning while the day was still cool, I took a bike ride to the park and back again. I just wanted to see what is out and about.

Olan was the first person I stopped for a visit. He had found more treasures, like an old mini air compressor that still works.

 And more tools.
Plus a lot of tin cans to recycle.

David Borntrager raking up leaves and twigs. he is a busy man.

Martha Hostetler is out and about on her first mobility ride around and about.

While waiting for the Pioneer Trails to pull into the parking lot to load the northbound passengers.
David Swartzentruber, Fred Mick, Sam Hostetler and Mose Troyer.

Snowbird Season

Today the Pioneer Trails was almost full of passengers. Quite a number of them are Snow Birds, some that have jobs down here and others like to come early. At least one couple brought their cleaning maids with them. It is good to have them back again.

Relaxing

Olan is not homeless anymore for his nephew opened their home to him. But there are times when he can not contain himself inside four walls. Tonight he came to the park to relax after a busy day of collecting treasures from trash. He digs in trash cans for cans to recycle and other valuables to put on his garage sale.

I admire his perspective of life, eat, relax, dig through junk for treasures, drink a little bit or too much. Get sick, almost die a number of times, recover, get up and go again. His IQ is high, he is no dummy. This is his way of life and he likes it.

West Virginia Amish

A number of Amish from various places come down to Sarasota to doctor at the Nutrition Wellness Center on Bee Ridge. This group from West Virginia came down on the train, but due to Hurricane Matthew that specific train isn't running, so they lad to look for different transportation. So they are taking the Pioneer Trails as far as Lexington KY and a taxi takes them the remaining four+ hours home.

Life in the Wild

Council Meeting; where the leaders sit on high places to do serious talk...

Hindsight; Understanding of a situation or event only after it happened or developed,

Like Rumspringa

I have studied wildlife well enough that I know
they have leaders,
they have hindsight,
they run to and fro.
(Rumspringa)

Basenji

Tonight I met one of the oldest breeds found in ancient Egypt. His name is Janui. More information can be found here . He was a bit skittish when we first met but we gave him a bit of time until his eyes changed from fear to trust and he edged close enough to me that I could almost touch him. Maybe next time I can pet him.

Hurricane Matthew

Our effects of Hurricane Matthew are all positive, for he broke the summer heat. Autumn in Florida has come. Our early morning temperatures for this coming week are to be from 66-71 degrees.  Daytime high too be from 85-90, which is just perfect as far as my kind of weather.

All in One Day

David doing his annual job of cleaning out the dryers at the Laundromat. Sometimes he finds a tip or two in the lint.

Mary Smucker dropping off reading material for the people who sit around waiting for their laundry to get clean and dry.

I made one quick round to the park and back again before I settle in for the night. The McClures with Daniel Miller.

Today was a low-key of waiting around for Matthew to make landfill in  Florida and then seeing  where he goes and what he does.

Shuffleboard Game

One board was active.

But it is not going to be long until there is going to be much more activity.

Happy Birthday to Me

Tonight I went out for dinner at The Rosemary with a few of my friends.

I love Janet's eye. It has to do with the wine and the dining.

 The soup

And my Birthday desert. I didn't get a picture of the main menu. The food and service is tops. This is my second time at The Rosemary.

And then we watched the sunset over the bay.

 Janet and Nancy

 Ann

The Blackboards swarmed the place.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. It was my best birthday for this year.

Goldie Goes Home

Goldie was so eager to go home that she jumped into the vehicle well ahead of her Master and Mistress. I didn't even have a chance to say "Good-Bye" so she exited the vehicle a little bit, just long enough to take a look at me and clawed her way back into the vehicle. There was no messing around with good-byes and farewells. It was just get me out of here.

Try out this link to see how it works. I am new at Wordpress. Pinecraftsarasota.home.blog Thanks.
