Bocce Ball

 Half of the team has red balls and the other half gets the green balls. It is the red ball's turn to play.

 He hit the mark. I love his satisfied look and punch.

 Abe Troyer's turn to throw or roll the green. I marvel at Abe determination to do what he can do.

 And this man's turn.

The onlookers are in chairs, on bikes, riding golf carts or standing. This is probably the first day of many when the park is loaded with people. 

The Chuck Wagon Gang

 The Chuck Wagon Gang was at Birky Square tonight. Spots get reserved by placing a chair earlier in the day to where you want to sit.

 Or you bring your chairs when you arrive shortly before the concert.

 Finally there was standing room only on the street. It was quite safe on the street as the east end was blocked due to broken utility lines, due to the high winds earlier this morning.

I didn't stay around long after the music started. It was beautiful bit I was too cold to enjoy much of it.

Haiti Benefit Auction

 The Haiti Benefit Auction starts this afternoon and continues through tomorrow. Yesterday morning this bus pulled into Pinecraft. Their first stop was Der Dutchman's  for breakfast. Later they were at the Tourist Mennonite parking lot just doing what everybody else does, looking around and seeing who is who. 

 Most if not all of the passengers were OOM or OOA. (Old Order Mennonite or Old Order Amish)

These last two pictures were passengers on the Pioneer Trails bus. They either had their connections with Pioneer Trails  in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky or Tennessee.

The Haiti Auction always brings lots of people in. 

Across The Phillippi Creek

 Whenever I go to the Park in the evening I take a ride down to the Phillippi Creek just to see what water foul are settling in and anything else out of the normal. Tonight I spotted this across the creek. From a distance it was a strange pile of something, so I pulled it up and took a shot. This is what I saw.

      

 Shortly a golf cart came along, which is normal and passed this lump.

After the golf cart was out of sight, I guess he had to see what else is around.

Music Fest at the Park

 Tonight there was music at the Park, probably for the first time this winter. A number of Prison Ministry groups had arranged to be in Pinecraft at the same time.  

While they were setting up Alfred decided to entertain with singing and preaching. 

And at times he wore his Batman mask.

 Owen is Owen and he has an ear for music. He is homeless and every now and then I get a glimpse of his life, their lives.

Tomorrow night there is to be another music fest at Birky Square, with John Schmid being the guest. 

The Beginning and End of the Day

 The beginning of a beautiful day. We had lots of rain last night and it was still dreary this morning but soon after 10 am the sun broke through the clouds.

 Most times Donny looks down on people because of his heights but this time he is looking up.

 Waiting for the light to change.

 This Daddy isn't even 35 yet and he already had silver gray hair. He said he has been gray since he is fifteen. The children help carry their things onto the bus.

 And a second load for the girl. I marvel time and again how these children are taught to take responsibility according to their ability. 

 Two Pioneer buses and the Daviess County Indiana buses left this afternoon.

 Paul Schlabach found himself a scooter of sorts. Later in the day this boy had the scooter while Paul had a regular bike. I think this is his wife's sister's son.
