Ghost Town Activities

This is the time of the year Pinecraft reverts into a Ghost Town. Every summer it happens and to be honest the year round resident's do like it, at least for a while. It gives us a time to breathe normally and rest up after a busy winter season. Most evenings when it cools off I go out for another bike ride. Sometimes it appears like I am about the only person at the park. If there is just one other stranger or two at the park, I usually high-tail out of the park because I don't want to take unnecessary risks.

But on Tuesday night the park was busy. Parents were there with little children, two shuffleboard games were going. A few were playing basketball and a lively Volley Ball game was in progress.

This photo was taken with my new camera at dusk. I am well pleased how clear the shot is without using the flash.

  1. I used to sit sometimes in Pine craft park and watch these folks play Katie when i lived in Florida.......Just to share with you folks, i have a new post today on Amish Stories from the Terre Hill days even that was just held in Lancaster Pennsylvania. It was a very hot day but i was able to get i think a few good images from this event. The town is populated with a mix of Amish and old order Mennonites which only adds to its charm. They even have what has become famous in Terre Hill their "outhouse race". The town sits on a hill so it overlooks Lancaster farmland in almost all directions. This is one of my favorite towns to visit because its free from commercialism, so if you are looking for a really all American kind of town with the added bonus of seeing its Amish and Mennonite residents at work and play, then this town is for you. Thanks folks. Richard from Amish Stories.

  2. I bet you can get a seat with no problem now at Yoders restaurant!. Richard
