The Love of Music

Allen Fisher is the lead singer. This group is fairly new and I should have asked for more information of where to order their cd.

The crowd got bigger whenever they had the stage.

 Examining Daddy's head.

 Gospel Express's music.

Because today is Sunday, most of the Lancaster people were dressed in their Sunday best.

    Hi Katie,

You have a very incredible blog here. I've looked through it over the past few days and I think it has been a while since the Internet has shown me a side of America I had not seen before. Would you have any interest in talking more about the community of Pinecraft? I write for a few magazines and I take a lot of interest in people who live in close communities like yours seems to be - and the pluses and minuses that come along with that. I really enjoy your site either way.

    Best,
    Chris

Well, I'm not really a big reporter or anything. I just write freelance articles on things that I find interesting when I go to new places, and I was googling about Florida since I'm taking a trip there soon. I like writing about people who live lifestyles outside the mainstream because i think everyone should find a life that's right for them. Maybe they'd have more courage to do it if they saw other people doing things differently.

It's hard not to have a lot of questions about Pinecraft. Your pictures show a really human world. I think most people might be envious of the sense of community and strong family support that the Amish or Mennonites have, but they would get claustrophobic growing up with 8 siblings (and they wouldn't want to give up modern conveniences.) Is it possible to have it both ways? I don't know. I'm really curious what people lose when they leave the old order, but also what they keep with them. Pinecraft just seems like an interesting place where people have the best of both worlds. Not sure if that's true or not, but it looks that way from the pictures.

I would love that. Do you have an email address? Mine is christopherkilbourn@gmail.com if you want to send me a message. Maybe I could ask you a few questions before going out there.
