Pinecraft Shots

Bob Bender with his invention. Pretty neat.

While doing laundry at the Laundromat I watched this man sit on the steps and tie his shoes, then get up and clean the flower bed. I decided to really zoom him in and in the process lost some pixels.

 Wayne and Mark, my neighbors.

Waiting on the Pioneer bus to come in. They were three hours late due to come upon an accident in Kentucky. There was nothing to do except wait until the interstate was cleared.

I wanted this picture and I didn't know how to do it except face them and shoot it. None of them rebuked me, so that means it is okay.

Yard Sales and Puppy Love

I am assuming every Saturday starting today until the end of March there will be Yard Sales in Pinecraft. It is just a Pinecraft thing in more ways than one. One reason is every year some people don't return to Pinecraft, either due to health reasons or have passed into eternity. Then there is always a yard sale for the small things the family doesn't want. I also think Yard Sales are more than that, they get into your bloodstream. Some people just have to go browse and buy, while others just have to make a Yard Sale. The buyers and sellers love it.

Today there was a multifamily Yard Sale right outside my window. I watched them set up and sell while eating breakfast. By the time I got out there the early birds had come and gone, but John & Mary Troyer were browsing books. Mary was telling John that she wants to but certain books and then pass them on and John gave her a certain look. The look was so quick I could not capture it on camera, so the two gave me this look that was even better. Thanks John & Mary.

There was another multifamily Yard Sale on Clarinda Street...

 With lots of Puppy Love...

 This puppy is spoiled...

and was seeking attention from everyone. The truth is he is a lovable dog. He is one of those ice cream lovers that gets spoon fed...

Seeing Details

Today I dried my laundry at the Laundromat. While waiting for the cloth to dry I bike a bit, and today was the day of seeing little details and admiring their beauty.
So: Y is for Yellow, so very yellow.

 T: is for tacky.
I have been counting the tacks that make this photo tacky.
I love it.

M: is for Meter Reader. Last week a guy walked around Pinecraft putting in new modern meter readers. No longer do they have to walk from house to house to read the meters, for the satellite sends the information to the office onto the computer. Nor does anyone have to call in when the electricity goes off, as the meter reader will contact the office.

While Orie walked off to do produce shopping at Yoder's market another lady climbs onto the golf cart and visits with his wife Edith.

Later in the afternoon I did some more biking and noticed this house changed ownership. The "For Sale" sign was still in the yard but the house just got sold this morning. It was Paul Hershberger's house on Gardenia Street.

I love this little tacky setting on Birky Street, although I couldn't find the tacks.

Chalk Festival

 3D Perspective

I shouldn't like this picture but I confess I do like it, especially the expressions of the onlookers. When Nancy and I came around and were very close to her, she opened up one eye and smiled at me.

It was too much walking for me, so we borrowed a wheelchair from the Tourist Mennonite Church and I let Nancy push me around. Thanks to Nancy.

This is a vertical painting. quite a few buildings were vertically painted with chalk. One of the volunteers said this is the first time for buildings and she wished they would have been done in real paints instead of chalk.

 Chalk artist's supply.

I just loved watching the multi culture of people.

After we were finished at the Chalk Festival we went out to eat and en route to the restaurant we walked pass this woman weaving a basket. Of course we had to stop and chat a bit.

Family Gathering at the Park

I was so totally surprised when I biked to the park this afternoon. This time I was the outsider, for most of the other people were having a picnic, a family gathering. People were everywhere. The pavilion was full of food and people.

All along the shore they were fishing with rod and reel or catching fish in a net.

I marvel at the skill it takes to successfully cast a net. This guy here did the best and he caught the only fish during the time I was sitting on the bike trail.

Two of the boy would try to chase the fish upstream while the other two cast their nets. Or next the fishermen waited on the shore until the fish swam past and then threw their nest. The fish that got away continued to swim and jump downstream to where fishing poles were sticking in the water.

Somehow we in Pinecraft think this is "our" park but it isn't. This is a county park and it is open to the public. Later today there were two more birthday parties at this park.

Aunt Abigail

When you want to get off the swing and you can't reach the ground, just pull yourself up, step on the seat, grab a hold of the chain...

side your fingers down the chains and JUMP, then hit the ground running.

to your Aunt Abigail.

My Double Life

Waiting for the Pioneer Trails bus to come in.

I have a double life in Pinecraft, my summer life and my winter life. Today when the Pioneer Trails bus came in with a full load I realized that my summer life has come to an end and the winter Snowbird season has arrived. I bid my summer life "Good-Bye". No longer will I have the streets to myself or the interacting with "outsiders" who are inside of Pinecraft, Today I bid them "Good-bye" until April.

I also look forward to my winter life. The streets will be loaded with people. There will always be something going on at the park. There will be music fests at Birky Square, the weekly Saturday night Blue Grass on Gardenia Street, and Benefit Suppers at the park a few times a week.

Other than the restaurants there is Big Olaf for an ice cream cone or Emma's Pizza Shop for the best Pizza in Pinecraft. I look forward to this season of my double life. So welcome winter and Snowbirds.

The drivers today are Laverne Slabaugh and Donny Wagler.

I don't know if they gave each other a welcome hug, but it looks they'd want to.

Some more visiting and catching up.

LeAnna

I can't imagine life in Pinecraft without Leanna.

 Having a good laugh.

Al is squeezing her bike tires showing the other men how low she is on air, but Lena says her tires are only flat on the bottom and so they don't need more air.  She does have a valid point of view.

Suddenly all faces are turned to the south...

The Pioneer bus came in and while I was watching them unload these two ladies stepped right in front of me and so I had decided to do a bit of shooting, especially when I noticed their elbows.

Wonder what they are talking about?

Try out this link to see how it works. I am new at Wordpress. Pinecraftsarasota.home.blog Thanks.
