The Beach on Longboat Key

Last night I posted this photo on Project 365 . It was the first shot I took of "The Beach" a small public beach on Longboat Key.

We were wanting to see the sunset, but we didn't as the sun went down behind a bank of clouds.

The clouds were constantly changing as the huge waves kept roaring in due to the Rip Currents.

The three of us Nettie, Nancy and I wanted to be left alone with our own thoughts, so we each took a chair and found separate spots.

One-hundred fifty photo shots later it was getting dark and time to get off he beach.

I always find it hard to leave the beach after sunset, for who will listen to the roaring of the waves? Who will watch the clouds change position and color? I always think it is a shame when nobody is on the beach to take in the beauty. But every night in ages past the beach has been here, the waves have come and gone. The clouds have changed and the sun has always sunk beyond the horizon. The beach has brought peace and quiet to many a person...

My last look and photo shot before leaving the beach.

  3. Thanks for sharing your photos of Pinecraft, Sarasota and the surrounding area. My grandparents used to live in Pinecraft and I have a soft spot in my heart for that place. Keep up the great work!

  4. My particular favorite is the ocean scene with the clouds tinged in pink. What a lovely collection of photos. I bet you had a good time and left feeling serene.

  5. Pinecraft looks like a beautiful place to visit. We have visited the Amish community in Ohio, and Indiana. The food is delicious in both states. We attended a gospel sing in the Amish community in Ohio. We found that the Amish people are shy at times, but very pleasant.
The photos in this article are absolutely gorgeous.Thank you for sharing them with us.
